ABSTRACT
Morphological analysis of biopores formed by the plant roots was carried out on the opaque soil blocks in reflected light. The samples were taken from the genetic horizons of forest soils used for agriculture. We found that the plant roots were not centrically situated in the cross section of biopores but were usually more adjacent to one of the walls. In our investigation we did not observe the occurrence of any zones of compacted soil in the direct vicinity of the roots.
