Peer Review Process

The review process follows a double-blind system, meaning that neither the authors nor the reviewers know each other’s identities. The names of reviewers of articles published in previous years are disclosed on the journal’s website.

Pre-evaluation Process

The editorial office staff performs a formal pre-evaluation of submitted manuscripts to assess formatting, ethical considerations, plagiarism, authorship, and required permissions. The Editor-in-Chief, along with a Section Editor invited by the Editor-in-Chief, conducts a preliminary evaluation of submitted manuscripts to assess their topic suitability, linguistic quality, originality, and innovative content.

Peer Review Process Steps

1. Invitation of Peer Reviewers
The Section Editor invites reviewers to assess manuscripts that have passed an initial positive pre-evaluation. These manuscripts are deemed matching the scope of International Agrophysics, but their content still requires further refinement. Reviewers may be selected from members of the Advisory Board, those suggested by the author, or other experts in the field.

2. Response of Reviewers to Invitation
Potential reviewers consider the invitation against their own expertise, conflicts of interest, and availability. They can accept or decline. If possible, when declining, suggestions of alternative reviewers are welcome.

3. Performed Reviews
Based on the reviews, the Section Editor and the Editor-in-Chief decide whether the manuscript will be accepted for publication, returned to the corresponding author for revision, or rejected. In the case of conflicting reviews, the Section Editor may invite additional reviewers for another round of evaluation. If the manuscript is returned for revision, all reviewer comments must be addressed or a rebuttal must be provided in an Explanation Letter.

4. Handling Revised Manuscripts
The revised manuscript will be reviewed by the Section Editor and, if necessary, by the original reviewers.

5. Final decision
The final decision on acceptance or rejection is made jointly by the Section Editor and Editor-in-Chief. No manuscript will be published unless at least two reviewers agree that the paper is acceptable.
