Publication Ethics

International Agrophysics is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics in scientific publishing.

Prior Publication

The journal International Agrophysics publishes original research papers that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. To prevent unnecessary delays, authors should disclose any potential instances of redundant publication.

Peer Review Process

The Editor-in-Chief and an Associate Editor invited by the Editor-in-Chief conduct a preliminary evaluation of submitted manuscripts to assess their originality and innovative content. Manuscripts are initially checked for topic suitability and linguistic quality.

Only manuscripts that receive a positive pre-evaluation are forwarded to the Associate Editor, who assigns at least two reviewers. Reviewers may be selected from the Advisory Board Members, those suggested by the author, or other experts in the field from a country different from the country where the research was conducted. Based on the reviews, the Associate Editor and Editor-in-Chief decide whether the manuscript will be accepted for publication, returned to the corresponding author for revision, or rejected.

If the manuscript is returned for revision, all review comments must be addressed or a rebuttal must be provided in an Explanation Letter. The revised manuscript will be reviewed by the Associate Editor and, if necessary, by the original reviewers. The final decision on acceptance or rejection is made jointly by the Associate Editor and the Editor-in-Chief. No manuscript will be published unless at least two reviewers agree that the paper is acceptable.

The review process follows a double-blind system, meaning that neither the authors nor the reviewers know each other’s identities. The review process at International Agrophysics is strictly confidential, and the reviewers and the editors must treat it as such. Confidential information obtained during the review process must not be used by the reviewers or the editors before the paper with this confidential information is published.

Plagiarism Screening

International Agrophysics uses CrossCheck's iThenticate software to detect similarities in submitted manuscripts, including cases of self-plagiarism. All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism.
If similar content is necessary in the Materials and Methods section, it should be summarized and properly cited from the original source.

Authorship

The list of authors should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All multi-authored papers must include an Authors' Contributions section at the end of the manuscript, specifying each author's contribution. When defining authorship, please follow the Instruction for Authors available on the journal’s website.

Conflict of Interest

The journal adheres to the best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics  (COPE) in matters of scholarly publishing ethics. Manuscripts must be accompanied by clear disclosures from all authors regarding their affiliations, funding sources, or financial interests that could raise concerns about potential bias. Prior to publication, each author must complete a Declaration of Interest Statement. Please refer to the Instruction for Authors available on the journal's website when preparing the Declaration of Interest statement.

Open Access Policy

All articles published on the International Agrophysics website are available in an Open Access format, meaning they are freely accessible online to anyone, anywhere, without charge. Readers may access and redistribute the content and, depending on the license, reuse it in new or derivative works with proper attribution.
The specific license terms for articles published since Volume 37(3) are governed by the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License (CC BY 4.0).
The specific license terms for articles published in Volumes 34(4) - 37(2) are governed by the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

Corrections, Withdrawals, and Retractions of Articles

Correction
The journal publishes a correction if a significant error is discovered after publication. Authors should contact the journal's editorial office to request a correction. Once the request is approved by the Editor-in-Chief, the article will be updated and republished on the journal's website, accompanied by a formal correction notice. The publisher will also notify all relevant indexing databases to ensure that their records are updated accordingly.

Articles may be withdrawn or retracted after publication if they contain substantial errors that cannot be corrected through a standard correction notice or if they violate professional and ethical codes, such as multiple submissions, false authorship claims, plagiarism, or fraudulent data use.

Withdrawal
A withdrawal means that the article content is removed and replaced with a statement indicating that the article has been withdrawn.

Retraction
In the case of retraction, the original publication remains available on the journal's website but is marked with a "RETRACTED" watermark for future reference.

Referencing and Citation Manipulation

Citation manipulation refers to any systematic practice that inappropriately pressures authors to cite articles in order to boost citation rates. The International Agrophysics Board condemns and rejects all forms of citation manipulation. Editors, reviewers, and authors should be particularly vigilant about the following types of citation manipulation, which may occur during the publishing process:
  • Editors requesting authors to add citations from their own journal.
  • Reviewers suggesting citations of their own work.
  • Authors citing disproportionately large numbers of their own articles.
  • A group of colleagues preferentially and regularly citing each other’s articles.
If citation manipulation is suspected, it should be reported to the Editor-in-Chief, the Publisher, or other responsible party.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies do not meet the criteria for authorship set by International Agrophysics and, therefore, may not be listed as authors or co-authors, nor cited as an author.
Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, including all parts created using AI tools. If AI or AI-assisted technologies are used in the collection and analysis of data or in the production of graphical elements, authors must disclose this in the cover letter and the Acknowledgments section of the manuscript. Authors should specify the AI tool used and describe exactly how it was employed.
AI tools used for improving spelling, grammar, and general editing are excluded from these guidelines.

International Agrophysics does not accept advertisements or sponsorship announcements.
