ABSTRACT
The paper presents a method for the design of hullers and describes the significance of the morphological features of seeds in the development of a concept of the way of seed hulling, as well as the role of the physical properties of seeds in the design of the working elements of hulling machines. It has been found that in rational design of hulling machines their parameters should be chosen on the basis of simulation studies performed by means of mathematical models. A mathematical model should combine into relationships the design and operational parameters of the huller designed, as well as the physical properties of the seeds to be hulled.
